Hi its Wilfred here. Some of you may have seen that I was at the recent Grade D-G comp ( and I got back safely as well)

Now to the exciting news- what a great competition we had...  6 qualifiers....  3 second places and 2 thirds.Smile

Firstly congratulations to Naomi and Mel who qualified from g to F. Naomi did a great vol routine getting an 8.4- all that work on her shape jumps paid off. Mel competed her back somersault for the first time and showed improved confidence at competing.

Andie qualified from G to F and came third. Well done Andie- I am sure we will see some more somersaults at the next grade

Heather ‘s hard work paid off she competed two good routines and has now qualified up to grade E.

Gabrielle achieved her aim of competing her barani, she was that pleased she then forgot her vol- she kept smiling though.

Amy M  has qualified for the second time to D.  She showed some good form in her set routine winning the chocolates for the clubs best set marks with 23.7 .good work Amy.

Ruth competed her best bouncing at a competition- showing the judges what she can do.  She came a great 3rd and only just missed out on qualifying to D. Lauren did a good set but a bit of travel in her vol. She just missed out on qualifying to D.

Amy O did two good routines although she got quite close to the edge on her set. Well done for carrying on! She is getting closer to qualifying to nat C only 1.1 marks away.

Great news and congratulations to Emma P and Alex B who are now national C competitors. They both performed good routines when it counted . I don’t think Alex has stopped smiling yet.

Also thank you to all our judges and officials- Kieran, Samantha, Elizabeth, Jenny, Marvin and Catherine... sorry if I have missed anyone out!  Thanks to Lynda for being team manager and for all the parents and other club members- your support was great.

Full results are on the forum

Hopefully see you all at the next comp- not decided if I am going to Cardiff or Lancaster.....let Emma know which you think I should go to.

Keep working hard and having fun

Wilfred

National C - Yorkshire Gala Report - Hull 07/03/2010

[Submitted on: 14 March, 2010 by kjmerlinz]

Over 19 Ladies - Emma S came 22/27. Good bounce showing some of the skills we have been working on. No caution for Emma (Hurrah)

Under 19 Male - Alex O came 2/13. Alex showed a great routine and gained an excellent 2nd place in his first competition in U19. He qualified (again) for National C finals in July and also gained qualification to compete at National B level. (We decided he will stay at C until he perfects some more difficult moves)

Over 19 Males - Kieran came 10/17. An extremely nervous Kieran competed double back with style. Well done in overcoming your fears. Quote of the century went something like "Kinda wish I had practiced now" (I must point out here that Kieran would love to train but his PGCE course keeps getting in the way)

Grade D - G news - Sunday 21st March at Malbank College

Regional Grades G-D 23/01/2010 Competition Report

[Submitted on: 26 January, 2010 by kjmerlinz]

We had a magnificent 10 who competed at the grades D - G on Sat, but first of all a big thank you to our judge Samantha, recorder Marvin, marshall Yvonne Pyle and  our newly inaugurated officials Mrs Waterhouse and Leoni. Thank you.

Good news is that Rachael J qualified D to C which now means she is on the national circuit. Gabrielle has left G to join the F graders and Emma Pyle and Olivia both qualified from E - D but need a little bit more training before they are ready to compete at D.

Heather, Naomi, Leoni all competed well. Amy O astounded us all with her set routine. Well done in fighting those demons. Ruth would have gained more marks had she not joined the end deck in her out bounce!!!

Alex B achieved his aim of one and three quarter sommie - ball out. well done. Also mesmerised the judges when they all saw a move that we didn't!!!!

Overall a good competition with some good results. Well done.
